Fatal Collision Leaves Wisconsin Man Accused of Drunk Driving

A motor vehicle accident can take place at any given moment, and each collision has the unfortunate chance of ending in disaster. Being involved in a fatal crash can be challenging enough as is, and the situation could become even more intimidating should allegations of unlawful behavior ensue. A man was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving following a recent fatal accident in Wisconsin.

Law enforcement received reports of the accident at around 4 p.m. on a recent Sunday. According to reports, the crash occurred when a driver attempted to pass another vehicle as the driver was turning into a nearby driveway. His truck proceeded to slam into the side of the other vehicle, and two of the occupants of that vehicle reportedly suffered major injuries in the process.

Unfortunately, the driver of the second vehicle suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead soon thereafter. Authorities initiated an investigation into the accident, and while many of the details concerning what took place remain unclear, the driver of the truck was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. He is reportedly facing numerous charges following the crash, including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

Drunk driving charges of this nature carry severe consequences if a conviction is obtained, and those who face similar charges may benefit from seeking guidance as soon as possible. By consulting with a defense attorney, a person in Wisconsin could obtain advice on the potential consequences he or she may face and guidance on the best course of action with which to proceed. An attorney can examine the client's case and assist in forming a strategy to pursue the most favorable outcome achievable during subsequent court proceedings.
