Reports of erratic behavior lead to drunk driving charges

In some cases, it may take little more than a minor deviation in path on the part of a driver to leave others nearby with concerns for their safety. Similar scenarios could prompt witnesses to call and report the presence of erratic behavior to authorities. A recent incident in which a complaint was filed about erratic driving patterns has reportedly left a man in Wisconsin facing drunk driving charges.

Law enforcement agents advised that they received reports about a driver who was exhibiting erratic behavior on a recent Thursday night. According to reports, a witness claimed that the man was struggling to maintain proper lane control. Police say they were able to locate the vehicle in question soon thereafter and state that a traffic stop was initiated.

While speaking with the driver, police claim to have spotted signs indicating the possible presence of impairment. They say field sobriety tests were administered and although no further information concerning the nature of this process was provided, the man was taken into custody for driving while impaired. He is now facing what would be his fourth drunk driving offense should a conviction be obtained.

The idea of facing felony drunk driving charges can be a stressful and harrowing concept. Those who stand accused of similar offenses and wish to know more about their available options could benefit from retaining the services of an attorney for guidance in navigating the process. An attorney in Wisconsin can work to protect a client's legal rights and assist in preparing a strategy to seek the best outcome achievable concerning his or her future given the circumstances.
