Late-night traffic stop leaves 1 accused of drunk driving

When faced with a stressful and intimidating experience, knowing how best to respond or react to the situation can be a challenging feat. In some cases, certain reactions may only leave others with increased suspicion of the presence of wrongful behavior. A 43-year-old man has been arrested and accused of drunk driving after allegedly attempting to flee the scene of a traffic stop on foot in Wisconsin.

According to reports, the incident took place on a recent Saturday night when authorities received complaints about a driver who was swerving back and forth in traffic. Police say they were able to locate the vehicle and initiate a routine traffic stop. However, after stopping the vehicle, they claim the man attempted to run away from the scene on foot.

Police were reportedly able to catch up to him and place him in custody. Although many of the details concerning what took place during this investigation remain unclear, he was subsequently accused of driving while impaired. In addition to drunk driving charges, he also stands accused of resisting an officer and having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.

When facing drunk driving charges, knowing how best to prepare for what comes next can also be a daunting task. Fortunately, one does not have to face the process alone, and by consulting with an attorney, a person in Wisconsin could obtain much needed advice on how best to approach the situation. An attorney can provide a client with insight on all his or her available options and assist in creating a strategy to seek the best outcome achievable during subsequent legal proceedings.
