1 Accused of Drunk Driving After Truck Crashes Into Building

Reckless driving can come in many forms and fashions, each of which could increase the chances that a major collision might occur. While operating a vehicle at excessive speeds can be dangerous under any circumstance, such behavior doesn't necessarily have to be an indicating sign of the presence of further wrongdoing. A 37-year-old man is facing drunk driving charges after a recent incident in which his vehicle crashed into a condominium in Wisconsin.

The incident is said to have taken place on a recent Saturday evening when the driver of a truck lost control of his truck and ran off the road. According to authorities, the truck crossed into a pond before hitting a nearby bank and going airborne. They say his truck traveled nearly 60 feet before crashing into the roof of a nearby condominium.

Emergency responders say it took over two hours to remove the vehicle from the structure and assert the building sustained substantial damage in the crash. While many of the details pertaining to the investigation of the crash remain unclear, the driver of the truck was arrested shortly thereafter on suspicion of driving while impaired. He is currently facing what would be his third drunk driving offense should a conviction be obtained.

Convictions for subsequent drunk driving offenses carry increased penalties that could have a significant impact on a person's life. Those who stand accused of similar charges and wish to know more about their available options could benefit from retaining the services of an attorney for guidance on the best course of action with which to proceed. This type of guidance could prove essential to helping a person in Wisconsin prepare to make informed decisions about the situation and pursue the most favorable outcome achievable during subsequent legal proceedings.
