Crash During Early Hours Leads to Allegations of Drunk Driving

Motorcycles are inherently smaller than other motor vehicles and are thus significantly more difficult to notice on the road. With the reduction in vision that accompanies driving at night, spotting a motorcycle can be all the more difficult. Unfortunately, a 33-year-old woman has been accused of drunk driving following a recent accident that is said to have taken place under similar circumstances in Wisconsin.

The accident reportedly took place at around 2 a.m. on a recent Saturday was a motorcyclist was slowing down to make a left turn. Upon approaching the turn, his bike was suddenly rear-ended by another vehicle. None of the occupants within the vehicle were harmed in the accident, and while the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries, he was reportedly released later on.

Upon initiating an investigation into the crash, authorities claim to have discovered the woman to be under the influence of alcohol. A subsequent breath test allegedly indicated her blood alcohol level to be more than two times the legal limit, and she was arrested and charged with drunk driving. She may also be facing additional charges since authorities assert that a child was in the vehicle at the time.

Those who stand accused of drunk driving may be unaware of their available legal options and uncertain how best to respond to the allegations. When accused of similar offenses, a person in Wisconsin could choose to seek counsel from a defense attorney for guidance in making informed decisions throughout the process. An attorney can examine the charges a client is facing and assist in forming a strong defense for use during court proceedings.
